Got time for a coffee this week?

Got time for a coffee this week?

Wake up to premium style!

Remember the days when life was so hectic and crazy, that you only had time to dunk a tea bag, or whip up an instant coffee, then hit the road, maybe grab a coffee on the way to the office and probably hit the tea room a few times throughout your day -  barely even stopping for lunch? Its really about choices, isn't it? I am sure there a lots of people that have that exact routine, but now that you value your time so much, you have come to demand quality, and you deserve it.

I really enjoy sitting down to a rich premium coffee, sure I may have less coffee these days, but those coffees I do have, do not compare to the old ways of instant or supermarket prepackaged coffee beans. Treat yourself or gift a friend with premium Bay Beans coffee beans - we still offer coffee grinding if you don't already own a grinder.

Premium Reserve coffee.

This month, like every month, I have selected a premium reserve coffee and made it available for sale until stocks are sold out. This month, by popular demand is the amazing PNG Highland - its adeliciously smooth coffee with caramel tones and just perfect as a single origin espresso. Makes a fantastic clean plunger cup too! Get a bag of PNG Highland here

Your coffee is hand-crafted to order.

Did you know that Bay Beans coffee is hand-crafted to order. We do not keep any stock of roasted beans - we only roast your beans AFTER you place your order. Sometimes you may need to wait a couple of days before your coffee is shipped, but you can be sure your coffee is so fresh that the moment you open the bag, the aroma is the proof. Please visit Bay Beans coffee to make your selection.

Is Coffee an art?

Maybe not, but my photography passion certainly is.  I would like your help in naming this new photography business. If your suggestion helps me in deciding on a name, then I will be sure to send you one of my gift coffee packs. Take a look at the Photography website here and send me your suggestions - there is a contact page on the Photography Website and I would love to hear your ideas!

Who pays the most for coffee?

posted Sep 28, 2010 9:54 PM by James BayBeans   [ updated Sep 28, 2010 9:57 PM ]

And the winner is ... survey finds Brisbane coffee prices beat Sydney and Melbourne.Brisbanites pay more for a takeaway coffee than fellow caffeine lovers in Melbourne and Sydney.

While Sydneysiders enjoy the cheapest coffee prices of the three capital cities, according to an annual survey by Brisbane-based coffee supply company Gilkatho.

More than 600 cafes across Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney were surveyed.

Gilkatho managing director Wayne Fowler said they found coffee prices had gone up by an average of three per cent across all three cities.

He said this was less of a jump compared to 5.4 per cent in 2009.

But compared to the 1.4 per cent increase in other foods and beverages, Mr Fowler says it appears people are willing to pay more for a cup of coffee.

A regular takeaway cappuccino is $3.06 cents in Sydney - 25 cents cheaper than in Brisbane ($3.31) and 16 cents less than in Melbourne ($3.22).

Mr Fowler said the rising cost of green coffee beans and other cost pressures on cafe owners, including higher rents and rising staff wages all pushed up takeaway coffee prices.

Bay Beans - Were back!

posted Aug 22, 2010 6:48 PM by James BayBeans   [ updated Aug 22, 2010 7:43 PM ]

Bay Beans has had a hectic start to the new financial year! In one night alone, we were swamped with orders - infact, 170kgs of orders! Thats great news for any business thats for sure, but got us thinking around here about which direction we want to take Bay Beans. For us, Bay Beans coffee was all about the passion and quality - not quantity.

We have now settled on a plan, that accommodates our other interests as well, being Business Services, Photography and most importantly, Family and friends! The good news is, we will continue to produce delicious gourmet coffee beans for all of our coffee lovers, but focusing more on the quality and passion of our product.

This week I have been enjoying Bay Beans Brazil, a Rainforest Alliance coffee bean. Naturally sweet with a sugary aroma, especially when drunk with milk. Enormous complexity of sweet fruity aromatics, delicate acidity and rich smooth caramel and honey flavours. A truly great Brazilian 100% Arabica bean Rainforest Alliance coffee. Protected forests, productive farms, improved communities, clean water and healthy habitats. Thats our definition of sustainability.

Please come visit our online store to buy your Gourmet Coffee Beans, or take a look at the other things we offer at www.baybeans.com.au

Last
month I purchased a new stainless steel Coffee Tamp, for compacting my ground coffee in the espresso machine porta-filter basket. If you use an espresso machine, you would have received a basic tamp with your coffee machine - let me tell you this simple upgrade is a MASSIVE improvement, and it feels so great to use. Its very difficult to appreciate the difference if you haven't tried it. You can pay upwards of $150 for a coffee tamp of good quality, I bought mine for $50 - its stainless steel, very weighty, and feels perfect - I feel like  a real home barista now!

Bay Beans has distribution rights for Saeco and Gaggia espresso machines

posted Jun 30, 2010 10:10 PM by James BayBeans   [ updated Jun 30, 2010 10:56 PM ]

Bay Beans is proud to announce that we have obtained distribution rights for Gaggia and Saeco espresso machines - thats pretty exciting news! In the comming weeks and months, I will add a few machines to the store and will build on that by offering you barista and coffee accessories like coffee tamps, knock boxes etc - pretty much what i use at home myself.

25 years ago, Saeco, Italy’s leading espresso machine maker, invented the first fully automated espresso coffee machine, making it possible for coffee lovers to enjoy an indulgent Italian espresso in the comfort of home with the simple push of a button for the first time ever.  Fast forward to 2010, and the market is flooded with home coffee machines – but Saeco remains the original and the best because of its coffee expertise and development of innovative technology. Carrying forward a commitment to offer the very best in taste, design and performance – and celebrating 25 years since the first fully automated espresso machine was introduced to the market – Saeco is launching the next generation of coffee makers that go further than ever before, making enjoying coffee at home a deeply pleasurable experience every time.
